Kenshin and Kaoru fanfaction. Not usually my style but it might make me feel less lonely and unloved. It's hard
when feelings go unreturned. Kaoru is so lucky. Heehee!

It was a dark, warm, peaceful night. It had been about a week since Sanosuke said his goodbye. Kenshin had remained
at the dojo, much to Kaoru's happiness. She was simply resting on a futon after a delicious dinner. All she could
think about was the red haired, purple eyed man she grew to fall deeply in love with. He was not here because she
asked him to get soy sauce and vinegar. Just those 2 that time! She closed her eyes, and sighed merely thinking of
him. She wanted him. More of him. The truth was, he actually felt so distant from her feelings, merely being in the
same room as him would make her heart race with happiness.

Too late to think anymore now. "Kaoru-dono! I'm back!" Kaoru leaped out of the couch and made her way to the door.
She greeted him with a smile as he passed by carrying the containers. Noticing her smile, he turned to her as he
passed by with a smile. "Thank you so much for not making me buy any more than this," he said. Just the sound of his
handsome, gentle voice, so full of care, Kaoru felt her whole body feel warm and fuzzy, along with a feeling of a
twisting, spiraling energy in her chest.

That, was love.

She only managed to sigh as he passed right by. However, when he closed to door to the kitchen, she felt, something
else. A heavy, empty, hallow feeling. She worried. Does Kenshin not feel the same way she does for him? The mere thought
of it made her eyes tear up. What if he left her again? She couldn't bare the thought in the slightest. Worse, she
was afraid to tell him how she felt because it might just scare him off. Of all the things they had, so much in common,
been through so much, talked, smiled, felt pain, protected,

lived.

Why would he not love her?

About a week later, Kaoru was alone at the dojo because the students were at a nearby festival. Unfortunately, the
empty, heavy, painful feelings in her chest were only getting worse. What if he never loves her? What if he will
be scared off if she told him how she felt? What if he doesn't return her feelings if she tells him? All these anxieties
were torture. She paced back and forth in the training room, tears welling up in her eyes. She was so worried, she...

Meanwhile-

Kenshin was much happier than usual. He knew he couldn't put it off any longer. He was happy, but also worried.
However, he knew today had to be the day. That's because he realized how much pain he was inflicting on Kaoru.
He was not waiting any longer. Out of a short burst of determination, his eyes narrowed as he declared

"Tonight, I confess to Kaoru."

He got to the dojo and slowly came inside, a face so filled with purity and emotion. The swordsman heard Kaoru's
voice. She sounded like she was whispering to herself. He found her on the futon, bundled up as if she were cold.
"Kaoru-dono? Are you all right?" he asked. Kaoru immediately sprang up and smiled. "Hi Kenshin! Welcome back! Did
you enjoy the festival?" she asked. Kenshin smiled, then placed his hand on her cheek. Being next to him was one thing,
but whenever Kenshin touched her, Kaoru always felt a warm, tingling sensation wherever they made contact. It was
so rare that they did the feeling would probably last until night.

Kenshin said, "It was great, but now I'd like to take a walk with you. I want to spend time with you, Kaoru-dono.
I need to tell you something important."

Kaoru was worried at first, but then as she gazed into his eyes, she could see the sparkle of love in them. 'Could this be it?'
she thought. She fiddled with her fingers nervously. "Sure Kenshin. I'd love to," she said so innocently and full of
calming happiness.

They walked past the festival, finding themselves on a bridge. Kaoru suddenly realized. This seemed awfully familiar.
Like, her wildest fantasy. Kenshin faced Kaoru, looking deep into her eyes, his heart feeling the same warm, spiraling
feeling Kaoru was. As if a strong aura was rubbing agianst their chests. Kenshin came closer, then,

"Kaoru-dono. I must tell you something."

Kaoru's eyes grew narrow out of peace and hope.

"I'm listening Kenshin."

Kenshin took a deep breath, and began, his confession.

"Kaoru-dono, the times I spent with you, were the best times of my life. Merely being blessed with your presence
always filled me with such joy. No matter how much you hit me, and got angry at me, I feel so blessed to have a
woman like you in my life. As I spent more time with you, my feelings only became stronger. You are just......."

he paused, and it seemed he was holding backk tears.

Kaoru smiled, eyes moistening at his beautiful words.

"Yes?" Kaoru asked.

"You are just.....so special. You are so passionate, cheerful, strong, generous........loving. Kaoru,

I love you."

At the moment he said those words, Kaoru's eyes flooded with tears of absolute joy. She smiled and so quietly
sobbed at his heartwarming words. "I love you too," she said so gently through her relentless tears. She looked
even deeper in his eyes.

Kenshin smiled back, staring with even more love infesting his violet eyes. He then reached into his pocket, and
pulled out a small silver ring with a blue gem on it.

"Kaoru-dono. You've made me the happiest man in the whole wide world," he said as he gently took her hand into his.
"Will you marry me?"

Kaoru's tears started to lessen as she felt the love inside her grow even stronger.

"Yes. I will. I love you Kenshin."

Kenshin slowly put the ring on Kaoru's tender finger.

Their stare into each other's eyes grew stronger, and neither could hold back any longer.

They leaned in closer, and their lips met for the very first time.

The feeling was indescribable. Kaoru and Kenshin hummed and moaned quietly at the movements of each other's lips.
Slowly, softly, moving around with each lip, tongues playing gently. Kaoru felt her heartbeat so strongly. Filled with
so much happiness she wrapped her arms around her lover, as Kenshin did the same for her. The closeness, the contact.

It was both their one dream come true.

More than that.

A fantasy, a wish, a desire,

a prayer.

They finally seperated their lips, and walked back home, hand in hand.

On the way back Kenshin could not contain himself.

"I love you, Kaoru--dono."

"I love you too, Kenshin. Forever and ever."

And with that, after all they have been through, all the good times, the bad, the happiness, the pain, the life.

At long last, they have connnected their bond forever.

And lived happily ever after.

Now, if only my love story can begin.
Sigh. I guess the only way I could be satisfied with the unknown tale was to write it myself.

Didn't go as well as I wanted to.

I am NOT satisfied.

I hope you all will be.

Especially........
